- fUNCTIONAL USE - 2Functional Use - 2: To say how often something happens Description: Use this structure when you want to say how often an action, event, or situation happens. This structure is commonly used with frequency words and time phrases such as always, usually, often, sometimes, rarely, never, every day, once a week, and twice a month to show regular timing.1
